Some highlights from the report:


  • 35 children are taken care of in the new daycare centre by trained staff employed from within the community.
  • A Nursing Aid Course was run in selected communities for 20 girls and boys, all of whom have found gainful employment with decent salaries.  Camps are run for eye examinations, diabetes and immunization programs.
  • 36 educational sponsorships were given. This is financial support for children who want to continue with their education.  Accommodation is provided, if required.  Many of the students who have started earning voluntarily contribute towards the education of other students. There were also 207 beneficiaries of support classes for dropouts from high school.
  • 135 are taught in the Balwadi (Pre-primary school).  Classes and meals are provided.
  • 153 women took part in the Vocational Training Program for Needy Women and Girls.
  • Tailoring, fashion designing, a beautician's course, a nurse's course, a Balwadi's teacher's training course, computer training and an entrepreneurship development program for women are some of the programs offered.
  • There is a daily health clinic, a women's wellness clinic, a physiotherapy centre, a family planning centre and immunization clinics in rural areas.
  • 41 girls were able to stay in the hostel and continue with their studies.
